In the Berth Scheduler window, you can plan long-term assignments for all vessel visits for all berths. In Crane Plan Assign mode, this window displays:
A crane shift assignment bar
Cable reach limits
Gangs assigned
Vessel visit times versus crane shift times
Shift conflicts as red outlines around shift blocks
To create and edit crane shifts:
Open a Berth Scheduler window (on page 1) in Crane Plan Assign mode with the desired berth range and time frame.
Click an empty cell in the shift assignment bar to select it. To locate the shift assignment bar, see About the Berth Scheduler window (on page 1).
The selected cell displays a black X. To select multiple cells, keep the Shift key pressed when clicking cells or drag the pointer in one row to select all unassigned spots in that row.
Select the Bucket tool and click the required vessel visit.
If the cable reach for the crane will not reach the visit, XPS displays a warning message, but you can override the warning.
If the selected time segment does not overlap the visit, XPS displays a warning message and prompts you to cancel.
To verify and edit the shift details, select the Pointer tool and double-click the shift icon inside the shift assignments bar or vessel visit block. XPS opens the Edit Crane Shift window.
To review the work shift for a POW in the Work Shifts window (on page 1), double-click the cable reach limit bars.
In the Edit Crane Shift window (on page 1), make any necessary changes and click OK.
To display shift conflicts:
From the Display menu, select Show Shift Conflicts. XPS displays any conflicts as red outlines around a shift block in the shift assignment bar.
To delete crane shifts:
In the shift assignment bar, select the shifts to be deleted.
From the Actions list, select Delete Selected Shifts.
XPS removes the shifts from the window and updates the N4 system.
